TRACOR RECEIVES $16.1 MILLION NAVY CONTRACT

 ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Tracor Applied Sciences, Inc., a leading technical services company based in Rockville, today announced it received a $16.1 million contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division to provide continued operations, maintenance, logistics, and engineering support for the Large Scale Vehicle (LSV) self-propelled model submarine and its support facilities in Bayview, Idaho.
 K. Bruce Hamilton, president, Tracor Applied Sciences, said the contract will continue to support advanced submarine design and development programs by providing a means to test and evaluate various submarine component designs. Tracor has provided these services to the U.S. Navy since 1987.
 Tracor Applied Sciences employees in the Systems Technology Division will provide the engineering and technical services for the LSV and its support facilities under the direction of Thomas W. Cass, vice president and general manager.
 Kenneth G. Troxell will manage the program in Rockville, and Alan D. Mason will continue to serve as on-site program manager in Bayview.
