TRA Invites Telecommunication Companies to Bid for Mobile Services License.

Muscat, Nov 15 (ONA) --- The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced the Information Memorandum (IM) detailing the process for bidding to participate in the awarding the license for the third operator for the installation, operation, maintenance and exploitation of a telecommunications system to provide Public mobile telecommunications services in the Sultanate.

The TRA considers that the enhancement of competition in the mobile telecommunications services market will be of significant benefit to consumers and to the Sultanate's economy. It is also consistent with the general policy of the government, as well the TRA's mandate to promote market entry under the telecommunications regulatory act through the availability of a range of additional radio spectrum for potential deployment to provide a multitude of mobile telecom services, particularly mobile broadband to the consumers in the Sultanate.

The process to register interest in the above bidding process is available through the purchase of the Information Memorandum, which is available on the TRA website (
