 TPI ENTERPRISES SEEKS BUYER FOR MOVIE EXHIBITION INTERESTS
 NEW YORK, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- TPI Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: TPIE) announced today that is has retained two financial advisors in order to explore the possibility of selling its interests in the film exhibition business. The two advisers, Kidder, Peabody & Co. and Morgan Schiff & Co., began marketing efforts this week.
 TPI Enterprises' film exhibition business is conducted through Exhibition Enterprises Partnership, a New York general partnership, in which TPI Enterprises has a 50 percent ownership interest. At present, Exhibition Enterprises operates 60 state-of-the-art multiplex movie theaters representing 419 screens. The partnership is the leading exhibitor in 4 of the 20 largest theatrical markets in the U.S., and is the largest exhibitor in Florida, one of the fastest growing theater markets. The other 50 percent interest in the partnership is held by a subsidiary of American Multi-Cinema Inc., one of the leading theater operators in the U.S., which also manages the partnership's theaters.
 TPI Enterprises Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephen R. Cohen said today that the company is seeking a potential buyer for its theater interests so that it can concentrate its efforts and resources in its TPI Restaurants subsidiary. At present, TPI Restaurants operates 245 restaurants in 9 southwestern states, including 171 franchised Shoney's units and 65 franchised Captain D's units.
