TPI ENTERPRISES, INC. ANNOUNCES CHANGE IN BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- TPI Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: TPIE) announced today changes in its board of directors and management in connection with the previously completed $30 million investment in the company by persons and entities related to the Bass family.
 Douglas K. Bratton, John L. Marion Jr. and Thomas M. Taylor, who are all affiliated with the Bass family and related entities, were elected to the company's board. In addition, J. Gary Sharp, president an chief operating officer of the company's TPI Restaurant subsidiary, was promoted to president and chief executive officer of TPI Enterprises. Frederick W. Burford, vice president and the chief financial officer of TPI Restaurants, was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer of TPI Enterprises and was elected to the company's board.
 Joseph P. Gowan, who has been affiliated with the company since 1978, has retired. Robert A. Kennedy continues to be executive vice president and secretary of the company, although he has resigned from the company's board. Finally, Philip E. Cohen has resigned from the company's board of directors.
 Commenting on the changes, Stephen R. Cohen, chairman of TPI, stated, "I am delighted to announce both the new additions to our board and Gary Sharp's and Fred Burford's appointment as officers of TPI Enterprises. With the acceptance of an offer to sell theaters, the transformation of TPI into a restaurant company has been achieved. The new executive team along with the support of our strengthened board assures strong and effective management of the restaurant business and implementation of our expansion plans."
 TPI, one of the largest restaurant franchisees in the United States, currently owns and operates 183 Shoney's and 70 Captain D's in nine southern states.
