TOYOTA TEAM MEMBERS HONORED FOR PERFECT ATTENDANCE

GEORGETOWN, Ky., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Nearly 60 percent of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, U.S.A, Inc.'s workforce was honored recently for achieving perfect attendance in 1992, marking the third year the company has formally recognized this accomplishment.
Of TMM's 3,905 eligible team members, 2,225 of them did not miss a day of work, other than scheduled vacation time. In addition, none of them were late for their job or left work early, according to Sam Heltman, TMM vice president for human resources.
"This is truly an outstanding record of attendance," Heltman said. "What is also remarkable is that half of those with perfect attendance for 1992 also had a flawless attendance record in the two preceding years."
For the third consecutive year, TMM employees with perfect attendance were honored with a celebration at Rupp Arena. With all-night food and entertainment, the highlight of the evening was a drawing where 10 lucky TMM employees won new 1993 Camry sedans.
"We know of no other auto manufacturer that gives away the product it builds to recognize its employees," Heltman said. "Our team members know that being on the job every day is important. We appreciate their efforts and believe they deserve this recognition each year."
While 10 individuals drove away in new cars, all 2,225 were rewarded with a gift they selected from several choices, including a cellular telephone, Sony Watchman television and five-piece china place setting.
