TOYOTA AND LEXUS FEATURE CFC-FREE AIR CONDITIONING AND DUAL AIR BAGS

TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Toyota's 1994 model line- up reflects the company's concern for improving the environment -- inside and outside the vehicle.
The entire 1994 Toyota and Lexus passenger-car line-up, along with Previa and multipurpose vehicles 4Runner, Land Cruiser and the T100 truck will use R134a refrigerant in their air conditioning systems. The new systems eliminate the use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which have been shown to damage the earth's ozone layer.
In addition to the new CFC-free air conditioning systems, Toyota has announced that driver- and passenger-side air bags will be standard equipment on all 1994 Camry, Corolla, Celica, Previa, Supra and MR2 models, as well as all Lexus models.
Toyota also announced that its '94 T100 intermediate-size pickup truck will feature a driver-side air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS), making it one of the first trucks in the United States to feature the system as standard equipment.
The 1994 Toyota and Lexus models will go on sale in October at dealerships nationwide.
