TOYOTA'S SOUTH FLORIDA-AREA TRUCK SALES CLIMB IN DECEMBER

MIAMI, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Toyota's 14 South Florida-area dealers report a 9 percent increase in retail pickup truck sales in December over the same month last year.
In Southeast Toyota's five-state region, retail pickup truck sales in December climbed 50 percent over the year-ago month. 1993 retail pickup truck sales advanced 31 percent over 1992 in the Southeast region.
"With national consumer confidence soaring for the second straight month in December and the Southeast outpacing the rest of the country on the road to recovery, our dealers are experiencing a marked increase in showroom traffic," said Southeast Toyota President Pat Moran. "Today's value-conscious consumer is taking a hard look at reliability, cost of upkeep, safety, resale value and durability -- all areas in which Toyota pickups shine."
Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and customer satisfaction, Southeast Toyota is the independent distributor of Toyotas in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Owned and operated by JM Family Enterprises, Inc., Southeast Toyota is based in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
