TOYOTA'S RALEIGH/DURHAM-AREA RETAIL SALES CLIMB IN DECEMBER

MIAMI, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Toyota's three Raleigh/Durham-area dealers report a 27 percent gain in car sales and a 23 percent hike in truck sales in December over the same month last year.
In Southeast Toyota's five-state region, retail sales in December climbed 2 percent over the year-ago month. 1993 retail sales advanced 12 percent over 1992 in the Southeast region.
"With national consumer confidence soaring for the second straight month in December and the Southeast outpacing the rest of the country on the road to recovery, our dealers are experiencing a marked increase in showroom traffic," said Southeast Toyota President Pat Moran. "Today's value-conscious consumer is taking a hard look at reliability, cost of upkeep, safety, resale value and durability -- all areas in which Toyota shines."
Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and customer satisfaction, Southeast Toyota is the independent distributor of Toyotas in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Owned and operated by JM Family Enterprises, Inc., Southeast Toyota is based in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
Raleigh/Durham-area Toyota dealers include Classic Toyota, Leith Toyota and Raleigh Toyota.
