 TOTAL PETROLEUM (NORTH AMERICA) LTD. ANNOUNCES RESTRUCTURING
 AND MANAGEMENT CHANGES
 DENVER, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Petroleum (North America) Ltd. (AMEX: TPN) today announced several management changes effective Sept. 1, 1992, and a general reorganization of Total Petroleum, Inc., the company's principal operating subsidiary in the United States.
 Daniel L. Valot, chairman and chief executive officer, will also serve as acting chief financial officer since R. E. Dana, the current chief financial officer, is needed to fill a new position with Total Petroleum, Inc.
 Stephen P. Nicholson is appointed treasurer and Robert W. Keppler will become controller.
 Concurrently, Total Petroleum, Inc., the operating company in charge of refining and marketing in the United States, has been reorganized into four profit centers to be headed by the following individuals:
 -- Crude Oil Supply, R.C. Findsen, senior vice president
 -- Refining, James H. McCoy, senior vice president
 -- Product Supply, R. E. Dana, senior vice president
 -- Marketing, C. Gary Jones, senior vice president
 The four senior vice president, together with Patrice Bres, vice president, planning and economics, will be members of the executive committee which will, under the chairmanship of the chief executive officer, meet regularly to coordinate implementation of the strategies set up by the board.
 A number of other organizational changes have taken place. The most significant one is the creation at the corporate level of a new position of vice president, environment, safety and public affairs, to be filled by Melanie S. Kelley, reporting to the chief executive officer.
 Commenting on these changes, Valot stated that the new organization is meant to improve the company's responsiveness to changing business conditions, to put more emphasis on supply and trading operations and to enhance Total Petroleum, Inc.'s ability to handle environmental and safety issues in a more efficient manner.
 Total Petroleum (North America) Ltd. is a public company listed on the American, Toronto, Montreal and Pacific stock exchanges.
