TOTAL FREE AIR FOR SECOND PASSENGERS ON 'STAR CLIPPER'
 MEDITERRANEAN DEBUT
CORAL GABLES, Fla., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Clippers announced free air via British Airways to Nice, France, for the second passenger in every outside double cabin on brand-new "Star Clipper," that debuts May 16 on her inaugural season of Saturday cruises under full sail in the Mediterranean. She will make stops at Corsica, Sardinia, Elba and Portofino, Italy, sailing under full canvas for hours a day. Her itinerary includes favorite cruising areas long familiar to yachtsman Mikael Krafft, who has developed both this vessel and the 1991 sister, "Star Flyer". They are the largest clipper ships ever built, towering 226 feet tall, 360 feet long, and flying 36,000 square feet of sail from four masts. Each carries 180 passengers in private yacht comfort, in 90 air-conditioned cabins.
The Free Air program maintains cost of a full cruise including air roundtrip from New York or Boston at $2,579 for the first person, and reduces it to $1,595 for the second person in the same cabin. This provides for a minimum rate outside cabin, equipped with all amenities, including TV and private bath, as well as two lowers, adjustable easily to a double bed. All outside cabins are available under this promotion, at varying price levels. Other U.S. gateways require only a modest cost supplement. Miami, for example is only $180 supplement.
Star Clippers said the promotion will begin with the initial May 16 sailing and will continue for selected sailings through July 9.
