TOSHIBA BOOTH TO FEATURE THE FIRST PUBLIC DEMO
OF ITS HIGH DEFINITION TV 'HORIZON' SYSTEM'
Company executives promise that Toshiba's new booth at the Summer Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago this May will be no less than a "show stopper."
Toshiba will unveil the first U.S. public viewing of its High Definition TV "Horizon System." In what the company anticipates will be the most stunning high-definition TV demonstration at the show, this exhibit features one image displayed on three 50-inch high-definition televisions placed side by side.
Other exciting elements of the new Toshiba booth include:
-- Movie lovers, camera crews, and photographers on the prowl for unique visuals won't want to miss The Batmobile on display in the Toshiba booth. This is the sleek, powerful 20-foot-long car driven by Batman himself in the movie. The Batmobile will appear courtesy of Warner Brothers, a division of Time Warner, who is working with Toshiba to form a global alliance that will pioneer a new entertainment frontier.
-- Innovative Video Display reproducing the theater experience in a home setting with a 8mm VCR, as well as a 16 x 9 aspect ratio VCR and monitor.
-- Digital High Definition VCR demonstrating a future consumer VCR using the DigiCipher(TM) HD system, jointly developed with General Instrument Corporation.
-- "VCR PLUS" Programming Center giving people a "hands-on" opportunity to try the latest innovation in VCR programming.
-- Satellite Home Theater combining Toshiba satellite receivers and televisions with the latest sound reproduction technology to highlight the thrilling possibilities of the home theater experience.
-- Cinema World Exhibit points the way in home entertainment with a display of popular movies -- as well as segments from movies soon to be released, provided by Warner Brothers, a division of Time Warner, via laserdisc on eleven 36-inch, 16 x 9 Toshiba television monitors from Japan.
The newly designed Toshiba Booth promises to offer all attendees from every walk of life a memorable C.E. experience.
