TORY JOB CUTS ARE JUST CRUEL.
A FEW months back I wrote about the outrage that Remploy factories, which give work to people with disabilities, were being shut down by the Government.
The closures were, naturally, to save cash but we were told that any worker made redundant would receive special help to get them into new employment.
So far, of the 1,021 people made redundant by the closures, just 35 have found work. That means 986 vulnerable people have been slung into isolation, uncertainty and fear with virtually no hope of finding new employment. Then there's the cost of making these workers dependent on benefits.
Yet still plans continue to close another 18 Remploy factories.
You would think that the Government already had 986 very good reasons to end this callous policy right now.
