TORO NAMES McINTYRE SECRETARY, GENERAL COUNSEL TO SUCCEED JOHNSON

 BLOOMINGTON, Minn., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Toro Company (NYSE: TTC) today announced that J. Lawrence McIntyre has been named vice president, secretary and general counsel, succeeding Vernon A. Johnson, who at 64 will retire Aug. 15.
 McIntyre, 51, is currently a principal securities law partner for the Twin Cities law firm of Doherty, Rumble and Butler. He joined the law firm in 1967 and has practiced primarily in the corporate finance area, including securities law, corporate law, municipal bonds, corporate acquisitions and insurance. He has also served as Toro's outside legal counsel since the early 1970s.
 "Our relationship with Mr. McIntyre goes back more than 20 years," said Toro Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kendrick B. Melrose. "We have enormous respect for him and feel extremely fortunate to have him on the Toro management team. His considerable knowledge of the law, Toro, our people and products will be a tremendous asset."
 McIntyre earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the College of St. Thomas and graduated Cum Laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Minnesota Law School, LLB.
