TOREADOR UPDATES EXPLORATION ACTIVITY

DALLAS, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Several exploration projects involving Toreador Royalty (NASDAQ: TRGL) are presently under way which in total are potentially significant. Given that publication of its third quarter report is still several weeks away, the company has written to its Shareholders to comment on those projects which, in its opinion, are possibly meaningful to the company. The projects include the following:
 1. The data processing phase of the 3-D survey on the East Proctor Ranch in Hartley and Oldham Counties, Texas has been completed and interpretation of this data is underway. Based on preliminary examination of data several structural leads have been identified. Toreador holds a 15 percent royalty interest under this 17,900 acre block as well as a one-eighth working interest under 4,200 acres within the block.
 2. Elsewhere on the company's mineral holdings, an independent operator has proposed a 3,500 foot Permian reef test located on the Matador Arch in Motley County, Texas. Toreador would have a 15 percent royalty interest and a one-eighth carried working interest in this proposed test well. While scheduling has not been finalized, this well is anticipated to be drilled in the current quarter.
 3. In central Dickens County, Texas, a large independent operator has been assembling a lease block including some of Toreador's minerals and has conducted 2-D seismic operations over a portion of this acreage block. Discussions with the operator indicate that a well could be drilled on this prospect within the next few months. Toreador may acquire leases on a portion of its own and other minerals in this area and could participate in some manner in the proposed test well.
 4. Also in Dickens County, Toreador anticipates a Tannehill wildcat will be drilled on the Pitchfork Ranch within the next few weeks. The company would have a 9.4 percent royalty interest in this well.
 5. Outside of the mineral base, Toreador will have an 8.38 percent working interest and an approximate 1 percent overriding royalty interest in a high risk, high potential 8,500 foot Arbuckle wildcat located in White County, Ark. This well, which is located in the far eastern portion of the Arkoma Basin, is expected to commence drilling operations in November.
Toreador remains optimistic regarding future exploration on its mineral base with most of this activity being driven by the industry's acceptance of 3-D seismic technology.
Toreador owns in excess of 530,000 net mineral areas located primarily in the Texas Panhandle and Northwest Texas. In addition, the company owns working or royalty interests in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Toreador's Common Stock is traded in the NASDAQ market under the symbol TRGL.
