TOP SOURCE DEVELOPS BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY FOR OIL ANALYSIS INDUSTRY

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Top Source, Inc. (AMEX: TPS.EC) Chairman Stuart Landow announced that the company has funded research and development of proprietary software and hardware that is expected to significantly reduce the cost and speed results of the oil analysis which is used by industry for preventive maintenance on equipment. The R&D generated proprietary technologies for which a patent has been applied. The company has signed a joint development agreement with the Thermo Jarrell Ash Division of Thermo Electron, a U.S.-based manufacturer. The agreement includes the option to acquire exclusive manufacturing rights for North America. In addition, the company is in discussion with the ARL division of Fisons, a European manufacturer concerning a similar relationship for markets other than North America. Both TJA and ARL are instrument manufacturers. The company expects to initially commercialize this technology later this year.
In addition, Top Source acquired a minority interest in Spectro/Metrics, Inc., an Atlanta-based oil analysis laboratory. The company has an option to purchase the balance of the laboratory and intends to consummate the acquisition this year pending negotiations concerning financing. TSI will utilize this new technology and focus marketing efforts on increasing Spectro/Metrics' share of the existing industrial oil analysis market and seeking to penetrate the untapped passenger vehicle markets. Two major U.S. oil companies have expressed serious interest in utilizing the new technology in its commercial oil analysis program.
