TOP SOURCE, INC. REPORTS SECOND-QUARTER REVENUES
NEW YORK, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Top Source, Inc. (AMEX-ECM: TPS),

a developer and marketer of automotive technology, announced that its 1992 second-quarter revenues showed an increase of 18.1 percent over that of second quarter 1991. Revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 1992 were $238,066, compared with $201,658 for the quarter ended June 30, 1991, according to Stuart Landow, chairman and CEO of the company. The company's revenues for the second quarter 1992 declined from those in first quarter 1992.
The company posted a loss from operations of ($822,154) for the scond quarter compared with a loss of ($416,782) in second quarter 1991. Sales which were slower than anticipated, and a planned buildup of inventory, contributed to the company's second-quarter results, the chairman said. "We continue to have increased overhead expenses due to our larger engineering and marketing staffs, and our hiring of a national field sales force in the first quarter, which are continued, deliberate investments in our future.
"We began shipping our Overhead Speaker Systems for the Jeep Cherokee at the end of June, rather than at the beginning of May as planned," said Landow. "We anticipated reaching our sales target on Cherokee units by calendar year end."
Landow attributed slow sales of Top Source's SoundBar for Jeep Wrangler to Chrysler Corporation's move of that vehicle's production from its Brampton, Ontario, facility to its facility in Toledo, Ohio.
The company said that its Acceleration Restraint Curve (ARC) safety seat motion technology generated small revenue for the second consecutive quarter from a continuing contract with an automotive seat maker in conjunction with a Big Three automaker.
