 TOP PHOTOGRAPHERS TO CAPTURE
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF HOLLYWOOD
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- About 75 professional photographers will spend 24 hours May 20 capturing the glamour and reality that is Hollywood. Six months and more than 150,000 photographs later, 225 of those images will be published in A Day in the Life of Hollywood, the 12th volume in the highly successful series by Collins Publishers San Francisco. Eastman Kodak Company is a co-sponsor of the project.
"Everyone is fascinated by the magic of motion pictures," says James E. Patton, regional business general manager of Professional Imaging at Kodak. "The photographs will reveal the hard work that creates the glamour."
 Assignments include
-- The set of a new movie by Boyz N the Hood director John
 Singleton
-- The mail room of William Morris Agency
-- Project Angel Food, an effort to help AIDS patients
 -- A make-up school
-- An invitational premiere of Ron Howard's Far and Away. A Day in the Life of Hollywood is a change from the previous 11 books, which have profiled such locations as America, China, Italy and, most recently, Ireland. The Hollywood project not only focuses on a smaller area, but will document an industry at work, according to Lena Tabori, president and publisher of Collins and the project's director. Collins will publish the book in November with an initial press run of 100,000 copies. Eight foreign publishers have expressed an interest in the book. Their editions will be published in 1993. In addition to Kodak, other sponsors include the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, American Express Travel Related Services, Nike and Raleigh Studios.
