A FISH and chip shop worker is in the running to be the UK's best young frier.
Sam Parry, 21, works at his family-run business Top Chippy in Llanrwst.

Sam, named in the UK's top ten young fish friers in the 2017 National Fish & Chip Awards, said: "I've only been full-time for the past two years. So I'm pleased to have reached the semi-final of the awards."

action He's already been through exam questionnaires and a telephone interview. He faces a skills based assessment and interview during a comprehensive judging day at the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Training School in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
The 2017 champion will be announced on January 26 at the National Fish & Chip Awards annual ceremony in London.
