NEW MIGRAINE DRUG WHICH COULD HALVE NUMBER OF ATTACKS HAILED AS A 'HUGE DEAL' Karen Parfitt Wilson: "Hope the doctor prescribes it."

Brenda Mallam: "I have suffered migraines for over 20 years and have tried everything going. I've seen many consultants, been through hell. I'm really missing out on so much of life. I too have botox after keeping migraine diaries for two years and I'm fighting for help but I still get them a lot! I wasn't too bothered about knowing the side effects, it has relieved me of the vomiting but I still get migraines, it's maybe reduced the quantity slightly."

Jennifer Monaghan: "I'm scared to come off amitriptyline as I wouldn't be able to have a life without them. I forgot them once on holiday and after four days I got one migraine after another. But I hate being on a large dose all my life."

Ann Glancey: "I used to get terrible migraines, I found the only thing to help was a dark room and to try and sleep. I could go about with a headache weeks on end, they varied from mild to severe, the nausea was awful, I still get the nausea but not so many headaches, so maybe it has something to do with age. No medication worked for me only dulled the pain."

Ann Arkley: "I always get migraines and there's nothing worse. Here's hoping this new medication will help to prevent them happening."
