ONE of the oldest chippies in Llandudno has been recognised as one of the best in the UK.

Alison and Steve Owen have been running Fish Tram Chips for 11 years, with their daughter Tessa Turner also working for the family business.

The establishment, a fish and chip shop since the 1950s, has just been recognised by industry title Fry Magazine as one of the UK's 50 for 2015, and is the only shop in Wales to have made the list.

It received a 100% score from a mystery diner for their fish and chips, something owner Alison is very proud of.

The 59-year-old said: "For our chips, we source Maris Piper potatoes from a local supplier and peel and chip on site. We also make homemade mushy peas and serve four varieties of sustainable fish.

"To receive recognition like this from our industry magazine is fantastic.

"We are passionate about what we do and so are our staff, many of whom have been with us for years."
