TOP ATHLETES COMPETE ON QUAYSIDE.

ATHLETICS fans will have a chance to watch some of the country's top competitors for free. The Bupa Great North City Games will be taking place next week. Among the competitors will be England team captain Andy Turner - who is European 110m Hurdles Champion. The Games are a head to head competition between England and Australia.

The unique and exciting event is free to watch and is being held for the second year on the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.

Andy said: "Competing for your country is always exciting, but to captain an England Team competing on home soil is extra special.

"I'll ensure my team is fired up for this head to head match against a nation we always want to beat."

The event takes place between 1pm-2.30pm on Saturday, September 18
