TOMMY SHERIDAN COLUMN: WHY CND GETS MY VOTE TODAY.
Byline: TOMMY SHERIDANI WAS going to donate the cash from this week's column to buy a pocket calculator for Strathclyde Police.
But I'm not sure they could work out how to operate it - so the money goes to Scottish CND instead.
These days we can't an open a paper or switch on the TV news without hearing the phrase "weapons of mass destruction".
Scottish CND have been campaigning against weapons of mass destruction since the first protest marches to the Holy Loch against Polaris
Forty years on, the equivalent of 1,000 Hiroshimas is located just 20 miles from Glasgow city centre. CND don't pick and choose which countries should be allowed weapons of mass destruction.
Whether they belong to Iraq or Israel, Pakistan or India, China or Russia, the USA or the UK, CND want rid of the lot.
And when they eventually succeed, the world will be a far safer place.
