TOMMY SHERIDAN'S COLUMN: CAUSE TO CELEBRATE.

Byline: TOMMY SHERIDAN

AS I pledged at the start, every penny from this column will go to a good cause.

At the end of the first month, I can report donations of pounds 200 each to the following causes:

THE Scottish Fire Brigades Union to aid their heroic battle to defend the best fire service in the world.

THE Scottish Coalition for Justice Not War to help them publicise the anti-war demo in Glasgow on February 15.

CHILDLINE Scotland for their sterling work in assisting vulnerable children.

SCOTIA Clubhouse, _ a unique mental health project in Glasgow's Gorbals which helps people rebuild their lives after suffering mental illness.

All of these organisations are fighting in their own way to create a more generous, more humane society.

Keep up the good work.
