 TOMLINSON ELECTED UPJOHN SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES
 KALAMAZOO, Mich., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard G. Tomlinson, vice president for Human Resources at The Upjohn Company (NYSE: UPJ), has been elected senior vice president for Human Resources, effective Jan. 1, 1992, the company announced today.
 Tomlinson, 62, joined The Upjohn Company in 1956 and held a number of management positions in personnel research, compensation, employment, benefits and employee information systems. In 1981, he was named vice president, Corporate Compensation, Benefits & Employee Information Resource Management. He was named to his current position in 1990.
 Prior to joining Upjohn, Tomlinson was a research assistant in the psychology department at the University of Illinois (1952) and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He received his B.A. degree in psychology in 1951 from Grinnell College and a master's degree in experimental psychology from the University of Nebraska in 1952.
 Tomlinson's professional affiliations include: member, board of trustees, Employee Benefits Research Institute; past member, board of directors, Midwest Business Group on Health; Society for Human Resources Management; American Compensation Association; American Psychological Association; and Kalamazoo Personnel Association.
 He was awarded the W.E. Upjohn Award in 1967.
