TOM CONNOLLY NAMED PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF WKLS-FM

 CINCINNATI, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Dec. 22, David H. Crowl, president of the Radio Group of Great American Broadcasting Company, announced the promotion of Tom Connolly as president and general manager of WKLS-FM, Atlanta, Ga.
 In making the announcement, Crowl said, "WKLS' successful heritage in Atlanta is attributable to excellent product presentation and innovative marketing concepts. Tom Connolly has contributed greatly to the station, achieving prominence as one of the great rock 'n' roll stations."
 Connolly was appointed vice president and general manager of WKLS in August 1985. Prior to his move to Atlanta he had served as vice president and general manager of WDAF-AM, Kansas City, since May 1981. Connolly joined Great American Broadcasting Company in 1974 as an account executive with WKRC-AM, Cincinnati, then owned by Taft Broadcasting, and in 1976 was promoted to local sales manager. In 1978, he was named general sales manager at that station. From 1969 to 1974, he was an account executive with Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in their Cincinnati, New York and Philadelphia offices. Prior to that he was an account executive with the Xerox Corporation. He holds a bachelor of science degree in foreign sciences from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. Tom and his wife, Gay, have four sons.
 Great American Broadcasting owns 11 FM radio stations including WKLS and six AM radio stations, along with six VHF television stations affiliated with the major networks. Great American Broadcasting is a wholly owned subsidiary of Great American Communications Company whose stock is traded over-the-counter under the symbol GACC.
