TO THE GROUND: See the fuss over an exotic mutant hybrid; GO2.

SOULER RHYTHM KELLY'S, MONDAY, JUNE 26 SOME seven months ago Souler Rhythm singer Kevin Eaton left Blighty, leaving his band to play instrumental sets to anyone who'd listen.

Now he's back, the seven-piece Leamington band will play their first full gig this year at Kelly's on Monday.

Formed in February 99, Souler Rhythm play an exotic mutant hybrid of funk, jazz and soul, presented with African beats and a line-up of piano, sax, drums, bass guitar and a DJ.

Since forming, they have played the usual venues but gone a step further with two appearances at Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham, one being the Song Writers' Festival 1999. Their success led them to being invited back to open the 2000 festival in July.

Go see what the fuss is about.
