TNP ENTERPRISES INC. ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGE

 FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The boards of directors of Texas-New Mexico Power Company and its parent, TNP Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: TNP) announced that James M. Tarpley, president and chief executive officer of each of the companies, has today resigned his positions of officer and director of the companies and their subsidiaries to pursue other interests. R. D. Woofter, chairman of each of the boards, stated that Dwight Spurlock, a member of the boards, would serve as interim president and chief executive officer of Texas- New Mexico Power Company and TNP Enterprises, Inc. pending selection by boards of a new chief executive officer of each of the companies.
 TNP Enterprises, Inc. is the Fort Worth-based holding company of Texas-New Mexico Power Company, an electric utility, that serves more than 211,000 customers in 90 towns and cities in the two states.
