TJ International's Trus Joist Corp division, of Boise, Idaho and MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. Futurewood Businesses, of Vancouver, British Columbia, signed a nonbinding letter of intent to form a new engineered wood products company. The letter gives both companies 90 days, ending Sept. 30, to finalize the agreement. The enterprise would be known as Trus Joist Corp. and will be focusing on such technologies as open-web trusses, wooden, l-Joists and laminated veneer lumber. Operations for the new company are expected to begin in October.
