TJ INTERNATIONAL PRICES PUBLIC OFFERING

 BOISE, Idaho, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- TJ International Inc. (NASDAQ: TJCO) announced today that its public offering of 3,500,000 shares of common stock was priced at $28.50 per share. The company says the net proceeds are intended to provide an equity base for a significant facilities expansion program for its engineered lumber business.
 Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Lehman Brothers are acting as representatives of the underwriters. In addition to the 3,500,000 shares offered, the company has also granted to the underwriters an option for 30 days to purchase up to an additional 525,000 shares.
 Proceeds from the offering will also be used to reduce indebtedness and for general corporate purposes, including working capital and potential acquisitions. The balance of the proceeds is expected to be invested in short-term investment grade securities pending their application as described previously.
 TJ International is a specialty building products company headquartered in Boise. Through its 51-percent ownership in Trus Joist MacMillan, a limited partnership with MacMillan Bloedel of America, TJ International is the largest producer of engineered lumber products in the world. Engineered lumber is a manufactured substitute for the lumber traditionally milled from large-diameter trees. The company also manufactures and markets energy-efficient wood and vinyl windows through its three wholly owned subsidiaries: Norco Windows in the United States, and Dashwood Industries and R. Laflamme & Frere in Canada.
