 TITAN AWARDED ITALIAN CONTRACT
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Titan Corp. (NYSE: TTN)

has been awarded a $12 million contract to build the particle source for a new high energy nuclear accelerator at Frascati, Italy. The National Laboratory of Frascati (LNF), operated by the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), is one of the world's renowned scientific research facilities. The LNF is building the DA(Phi)NE accelerator complex which will be one of the world's largest producer of phi particles.

Dr. Gaetano Vignola, project director at Frascati, said, "Titan won the contract because its design offered so many advantages. The company has considerable experience building scientific accelerators, and Titan has an excellent technical team that includes leading scientists from some of the top research laboratories in the world -- Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, Brookhaven Laboratory, Los Alamos Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, the University of California at Los Angeles and Lawrence Livermore Laboratory."
Dr. Gene Ray, president and chief executive officer of Titan, said," I am delighted that through this project Titan can contribute to a better understanding of the universe and its subnuclear components."
