TIMOTHY HARRIS AND HERSCHEL WEINGROD SIGN
 WRITING/PRODUCING DEAL WITH FOX
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The team of Timothy Harris and Herschel Weingrod have signed a two-year writing/producing pact with Twentieth Century Fox, it was announced today by Roger Birnbaum, president, Worldwide Production and executive vice president, Twentieth Century Fox. Their company, Myrtos Productions, will set up offices on the Fox lot. The deal is to take effect immediately.
Perhaps best known for their original screenplay for the hit "Trading Places," Harris and Weingrod are currently producing "Falling Down," directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall, for Warner Bros. in association with Arnold KopMy Stepmother is an Alien" and "Pure Luck."
"It is a particular pleasure for me to welcome Timothy and Herschel to Fox," commented Birnbaum. "We met long ago when we were neophytes, we've all come long way, and I look forward to working with them again. Being reunited with old friends under these circumstances is one of the nicest things that can happen to you in the film business."
Weingrod graduated from the University of Wisconsin before attending the London Film School. Harris, a graduate of Peterhouse College, Cambridge, England, is the author of three novels. The first, "Kronski/McSmash," was published when he was 21. His subsequent novels, "Kyd for Hire" and "Goodnight and Goodbye," are widely translated favorites of mystery fans.
John Tomko will continue to oversee development and production for Myrtos as vice president of production.
Twentieth Century Fox is primarily engaged in the financing, development, production, distribution and marketing of motion pictures throughout the world and is a unit of Fox Inc.
