Analyzing and participating in interesting debates is crucial to developing critical thinking skills, such as the ability to assess the relevance of evidence and to anticipate counterarguments. Debates also provide an engaging way to grapple with and form opinions about current events. For all of these reasons, we include a debate on a timely topic in every issue. This issue's topic is: Are pro athletes overpaid? Have students read the debate and then discuss the topic in class. They can even cast a vote at and see how the rest of the nation voted.
