TIE/COMMUNICATIONS, INC. APPOINTS JACQUELINE A. BISH DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT/OPERATIONAL REVIEW

 SEYMOUR, Conn., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- TIE/communications, Inc. (AMEX: TIE), a major North American supplier of business communications systems, services and software, has appointed Jacqueline A. Bish to the position of director of internal audit and operational review.
 Bish will develop and implement an extensive program of internal audit and operational review programs. Her responsibilities include providing analysis, appraisals and recommendations concerning business operations, as well as reviewing the adequacy, compliance and applications of accounting, financial and other controls, policies and procedures for all North American operations. She will work in conjunction with the external auditors as well as train, monitor and contribute to the implementation and enhancement of TIE's management information systems.
 "Jackie's background and strength in auditing and internal controls coupled with her experience in field operations in the business communications industry make her ideal for the position," said Mark D. Amatrudo, chief financial officer at TIE/communications, Inc.
 Bish joined TIE in 1990 as a branch controller. Prior to joining TIE, she gained extensive audit knowledge, training and experience at the Pannell Keer Forster, and Ernst & Young international public accounting firms. In addition, she has two years of previous industry experience with one of TIE's leading competitors.
 Bish is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Arizona State University.
