TIBCO Acquires inCommon; Content Delivery and Management Technology to be Integrated Into TIBCO's Information Bus Products.
No financial details were released.
"As part of our on-going strategy of building and delivering solutions that enable enterprise-wide, event-driven computing, TIBCO is always looking for creative ways to extend the value of The Information Bus(R)(TIB(R)), our industrial-strength application integration platform," said Vivek Ranadive, chairman and CEO of TIBCO.
"In inCommon, we saw a company that matched our vision and technology direction, gave us a new perspective on the market and offered us a world-class staff of technologists and marketers that complemented our own. It was a natural match."
inCommon brings to TIBCO a set of standards-based content management and delivery products and technologies. They feature an event console for notification and monitoring of enterprise events, user personalization for fine-grained filtering of corporate data, and modular integration with existing content management systems, databases, or packaged applications.
"This market is ripe for a company like TIBCO -- with its size, industry stature, and business solutions experience -- to step in and provide information-flow and notification across an organization to create the event-driven enterprise," said Jay Verkler, former CEO of inCommon and now vice president of Internet technologies at TIBCO.
"We're very excited to join with TIBCO and contribute our vision to its mission of empowering the information worker with easy access to all the information assets of the enterprise."
More detailed plans for the acquired technology will be announced in the near future.
