CROSS COUNTRY

Logan Scherer of Bandon won the boys individual race in a time of 10 minutes, 1 second over a 3,000-meter course and Lacy Looney of Myrtle Point won the girls race in 11:44 at the nonscoring Bandon Run for the Brownies meet.

Scherer was followed closely by Siuslaw's Jack Lindsay in 10:04, and Looney was followed by Leah Twombly (11:50) and Kaylee Gruber (11:52), both of Siuslaw.

WATER POLO

Andrew Young and Lucas Larson scored four goals apiece, and Eric Mathews and Matt Young had two goals each to lead North Eugene to a 19-4 Southern League boys win over Marist at Echo Hollow Pool. Zack Nowak had three goals for the Spartans.

In the girls match, Sara Tompkins had three goals, and Drew Haines and Kelly McGrath added two apiece to lead the Highlanders to a 7-3 win. Katie Zerzan had two goals for the Spartans.
