THRIVE THROUGH CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY : Parkridge in growing partnership with forest.

Five hundred trees are being planted thanks to a partnership between Solihull-based Parkridge Homes and the National Forest Company (NFC) The Business Benefits programme provides an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the creation of The National Forest, spanning parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. The Forest covers 200 square miles across open farmland, former coal fields and remnants of the industrial age.

Leon Evans, Managing Director for Parkridge Homes (Midlands) Ltd, explained: "The property development industry faces a number of difficult challenges ahead and we all have a role to play in managing our impact on the environment.

"Parkridge Homes is delighted to be in partnership with The National Forest and would encourage other like-minded businesses to get involved."

A little closer to home, Parkridge places great emphasis on the environmental and ecological implications for proposed development sites.

"In accordance with Government planning guidelines, our aim is to utilise existing brown-field sites and offer greatly improved land usage. We also try to create design schemes which are sympathetic to the natural landscape and by incorporating open communal spaces, planting new trees and shrubs we can help create an ecological balance," concluded Mr Evans.
