THREE-WAY PARTNERSHIP FORMS TO BRINGMULTIPLEX THEATERS TO NETHERLANDS

LOS ANGELES, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Morgan Creek International Theatres, Warner Bros. International Theatres and Chargeurs have agreed to create a partnership called Warner-Morgan Creek-Chargeurs Multiplex Cinemas, V.O.F., which plans to build multiplex theaters in the Netherlands, it was announced today by Salah Hassanein, president of Warner Bros. International Theatres, James G. Robinson, chairman and chief executive officer of Morgan Creek International Theatres, and Michel Crepon, executive vice president of Chargeurs.
The partnership will construct state-of-the-art multiplex movie theaters in The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Construction is scheduled to begin this year on the first complex located in Scheveningen, near The Hague. Building plans have been approved by the city's zoning commission and the "Beauty Commission" which approves all of The Hague's architectural designs.
The centrally located complex, which will feature eight state-of- the-art screens and a number of commercial stores, is expected to be in operation by Christmas 1994.
In making the announcement Hassanein stated, "Warner Bros. International Theatres has constructed 26 multiplex cinemas with a total of 217 screens. Our experience in the U.K., Australia, Germany, Denmark, Portugal and Japan has proven that technologically advanced cinemas attract more viewers more frequently and generally stimulate demand for movies and related product."
Robinson added, "We entered into domestic exhibition in 1992 when we purchased a substantial interest in the First International Theatre Chain in the Midwest. This new direction of expansion overseas is a natural continuation of our long-term strategy. Additionally, we are pleased to extend our ongoing relationship with Warner Bros. and Chargeurs, whose affiliated company, AMLF, has been a distributor of Morgan Creek product in France."
Crepon explained that "Chargeurs, through its subsidiary Pathe Cinema, which presently operates 138 screens in France, is building the first two French multiplex theaters, thus adding 24 screens to the existing circuit in 1993. The partnership represents a natural expansion of our activities in Europe. It will allow us to share our experience with our new partners and will strengthen our long- standing relationship with them in other areas."
