THOR TO ACQUIRE FOUR WINDS INTERNATIONAL
THOR TO ACQUIRE FOUR WINDS INTERNATIONAL JACKSON CENTER, Ohio, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Thor Industries, Inc.
(NYSE: THO) announced today that it had signed an agreement in principle to acquire Four Winds International Corporation, Elkhart, Ind., a manufacturer of recreational vehicles, for an undisclosed price. The closing is planned for June 1, 1992.
Four Winds had sales of over $40 million and was highly profitable in 1991, its first full year in business, making it one of the most successful start up companies ever. It is already the third largest manufacturer of class C motor homes and has recently started to manufacture class A motor homes and travel trailers. Commenting on the planned acquisition, Thor Chairman Wade F. B. Thompson said: "Four Winds, which already accounts for about 10 percent of the class C industry, should grow rapidly after our acquisition and contribute significantly to Thor earnings. Thor's network of 500 dealers should double Four Winds current motorized sales." Thor is the second largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles in the U.S. and Canada and the largest builder of small and midsize buses. -0- 4/2/92 /CONTACT: Wade F. B. Thompson or Peter B.
