THOR ANNOUNCES RECORD THREE AND 12 MONTHS SALES; MARKET SHARE INCREASE CONTINUES, BACKLOG UP

 JACKSON CENTER, Ohio, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Thor Industries Inc. (NYSE: THO) announced today record preliminary sales for the three and 12 months ended July 31, 1993. Sales in the quarter were $110.5 million, up 27 percent from $87.0 million last year. Sales for the 12 months were $412.0 million, up 51 percent from $273.4 million last year. Last year's sales include Four Winds, acquired on June 1, 1992, from the date of acquisition.
 RV sales were $94.8 million in the quarter, up 28 percent from $73.8 million last year. For the 12 months, RV sales were $356.3 million, up 56 percent from $228.5 million last year. Small and mid size bus sales were $15.7 million in the quarter, up 19 percent from $13.2 million last year and $55.7 million in the 12 months, up 24 percent from $44.9 million last year.
 Thor RV unit retail sales for the seven months ended July were up 29 percent over last year, continuing a very strong market share growth. This includes Four Winds for the entire 1992 period.
 Thor begins fiscal 1994 with a record order backlog of about $67 million, up 63 percent from last year. "This indicates a very positive start to the new fiscal year," said Thor Chairman Wade F.B. Thompson.
 Thor Industries, Inc. is the second largest manufacturer of RVs and the largest builder of small and mid size buses in North America.
