THOMSON ADVISORY GROUP REPORTS SECOND QUARTER EARNINGS AND DISTRIBUTION

 STAMFORD, Conn., July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomson Advisory Group L.P. (NYSE: TAG) today announced earnings for the three months ended June 30, 1993 of $5.3 million, or $.53 per unit, on revenues of $13.3 million. This period marked the first full quarter without a substantial portion of the Cash Accumulation Trust (CAT) assets, and related revenue, lost through a previously discussed expired agreement with Prudential Securities Inc. These results compare to second quarter 1992 earnings of $5.5 million, or $.55 per unit, on revenues of $13.0 million.
 For the six months ended June 30, 1993, earnings were $11.1 million, or $1.11 per unit, on revenues of $26.8 million. This compares to earnings of $11.2 million, or $1.12 per unit, on revenues of $25.7 million for the six months ended June 30, 1992.
 The partnership increased its quarterly distribution rate to $.45 per unit, an increase of $.10 per unit. The record date for this distribution will be Aug. 1, 1993. Payment date will be Aug. 10, 1993.
 In addition, the partnership announced that its related distributor, Thomson Investor Services Inc. (TIS), has waived payments to it under the expenses reimbursement agreement between TAG L.P. and TIS for the third quarter. Such payments had been $120,000 per month, or $720,000 for six months.
 Thomson Advisory Group L.P. manages the Thomson Fund Group and Cash Accumulation Trust and through its Columbus Circle Investors division serves as adviser to private accounts, mostly institutional. As of June 30, 1993, Thomson Advisory Group L.P. managed approximately $9.7 billion in assets.
