 THOMAS W. STROUBLE NAMED DIRECTOR-MARKETING IN THE
 TIMKEN COMPANY'S NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA BEARING BUSINESS GROUP
 CANTON, Ohio, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas W. Strouble has been named director-marketing-bearings-North and South America (NASA) at The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR). In this position, Strouble is responsible for leading all marketing activities, from planning to sales and customer service. He succeeds John F. Hill, who retired on July 31 after 34 years of service.
 "In today's competitive environment, the linkage between product development, manufacturing and marketing is critical," said Donald L. Hart, vice president-bearings-NASA. "Tom Strouble's career-long experience with our bearing products and their applications makes him uniquely qualified to lead our marketing efforts. He will be working closely with customers as part of our initiative to bring new products to market more quickly and to meet the ever-growing expectations of our customers."
 Strouble joined The Timken Company in 1956 as a draftsman in the product engineering department and has moved through a progression of increasingly responsible positions. They have included general manager- research, director-technology-bearings-NASA and director-manufacturing- bearings-NASA, his most recent position.
 A graduate of Canton McKinley High School, Strouble holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from ent Development and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
 Strouble is a member of the American Society of Lubrication Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Association of Manufacturing Excellence and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio.
 He is also a member of the Louisville Scholarship Foundation board of trustees, the Louisville YMCA board of managers, the Malone College Advisory Board, the Education Enhancement Partnership's Uses of Technology in Enhancing Education Outcomes Working Council and is a member of the Greater Canton Chamber of Commerce.
