THOMAS R. WARREN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, FIELD OPERATIONS OF ROADWAY PACKAGE SYSTEM, INC. PITTSBURGH, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas R. Warren has been named vice president, field operations of Roadway Package System, Inc. (RPS), the nation's second largest small package ground carrier serving the business-to-business shipper. In his new position, Warren will oversee the operations and sales activities of RPS's field organization, which includes 220 terminals with 16 hub facilities. Warren succeeds Ivan T. Hofmann, who yesterday was elected president of RPS. Hofmann succeeds John P. Chandler, now vice president, administration of Roadway Services, Inc. (RSI), (NASDAQ-NMS: ROAD), Akron, Ohio, the parent company of RPS. All promotions are effective Jan. 1, 1993. Warren joined RPS in January 1989 as vice president, central division, and was later named vice president, eastern division. As eastern division vice president, Warren was responsible for operations and sales activities in RPS's Atlantic, New York metro, and northeast regions. Prior to RPS, Warren spent 17 years with Roadway Express, Inc., Akron, also an operating company of Roadway Services, Inc.
