 THOMAS D. GIBSON NAMED CHAIRMAN OF MONTCLAIR SAVINGS BANK
 MONTCLAIR, N.J., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Bernard J. Martin, chairman of Montclair Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: MSBI), headquartered in Montclair, N.J., announced that as part of its management succession plan, Thomas D. Gibson, president and chief executive officer of its subsidiary, Montclair Savings Bank, will assume the additional title of chairman, effective July 1, 1992. Martin will continue as chairman and chief executive officer of the Bancorp through Dec. 31, 1992. Effective Jan. 1, 1993, Gibson will become chief executive officer of the Bancorp and Martin will remain as chairman.
 Gibson joined Montclair Savings Bank in 1984 as vice president and treasurer, later serving as chief financial officer, executive vice president and chief operating officer. In October 1989, he was elected president of the Bancorp and the bank and in July 1991 was elected chief executive officer of the bank. He had previously served for over 25 years with Bloomfield Savings Bank and its successor, The Provident Savings Bank.
 Gibson is a member of the board of directors of the New Jersey Council of Savings Institutions and is past president of the North Jersey Chapter of the Bank Administration Institute. He is a member of the board of trustees of Bloomfield College, the Bloomfield College Scholastic Honor Society and its Graduate Hall of Honor. For the past two years he has served as chairman of the Yogi Berra Celebrity Golf Classic for the benefit of handicapped Boy Scouts in Essex County. Other memberships include the West Orange Rotary Club and the Montclair Golf Club. Gibson is a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, Bloomfield College and the Graduate School of Savings Banking at Brown University. He resides in West Orange with his wife Elaine and sons, Daniel and John.
 Martin joined the bank in 1974 as president after serving 25 years with Citibank, lately as vice president of its Wall Street Division, followed by two years as first vice president and treasurer of the investment banking firm of Blyth Eastman Dillon and Co. He has served in a variety of banking industry and community service posts during his career. He and his wife, the former Jean Hannon, are long-time residents of Montclair.
 Montclair Savings Bank is a $584 million, state-chartered, FDIC insured, Equal Housing Lender with offices in Montclair, Upper Montclair, Cedar Grove, New Providence, Rockaway, Boonton and Montville.
