THIRD PROFITABLE QUARTER FOR QUICKTURN SYSTEMS

THIRD PROFITABLE QUARTER FOR QUICKTURN SYSTEMS
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Quickturn Systems Inc.

announced today that Q2 1992 set another sales and revenue record, marking the company's third straight profitable quarter. According to acting CEO Dr. William Harding, the quarterly results are a tribute to the strong management team established by the company's former CEO, Phillip A. Kaufman.
Quickturn shipped 30 systems in Q2, each with 50,000 gates of emulation capacity. To date, Quickturn has installed over 150 RPM Emulation Systems worldwide. The RPMplus, a fourth-generation product shipping since May, strongly contributed to several competitive wins.
"We have seen a literal explosion in the market's acceptance of the RPMplus Emulation System as a design verification tool and of hardware emulation as a system integration methodology," remarked Ralph Zak, vice president of marketing. "The excitement generated by customers when they see operating systems and applications up and running prior to silicon fabrication is contagious and is fueling the rapid growth of the company."
Quickturn Systems Inc., is the technology and market leader for hardware emulation systems. Quickturn's fourth generation product, the RPMplus Emulation System(TM), is a reprogrammable hardware emulator that enables design verification for systems using ASICs or full custom chips. Emulation of chip designs allows complete system operation before fabricating silicon and reduces project risk, lowers development costs, and shortens time to market. The company was founded in 1987; production shipments began in Q1, 1989. Quickturn is headquartered at 325 East Middlefield Road, Mountain View, CA 94043. Telephone: 415-967-3300.
