THIRD CANTINA DEL RIO OPENS TODAY

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The third Cantina del Rio opened today in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, just east of Columbus, announced Randy Hicks, area director for Cantina del Rio.
The first Cantina del Rio opened in April 1992 in north Columbus, Ohio. The second opened last month in Centerville, Ohio, near Dayton.
The restaurant, designed to resemble a 1940s border cantina, serves high-quality Mexican food and hickory-grilled items. Entrees and other menu items are made fresh daily at the restaurant including garden-fresh salsa made with vine-ripe tomatoes and warm, flour tortillas prepared in the dining room for guests to see.
During pre-opening meals the restaurant raised more than $8,000 which will be donated to the Hispanic Society of Ohio for Hispanic scholarships. Justin Cox, general manager, and Phillip Torres, consultant and Houston restaurateur will present the money to Benito Lucio, president of the Hispanic Society of Ohio, today at 11:30 a.m. at the restaurant. This brings the total amount raised by Cantina del Rio to nearly $25,000 for Hispanic scholarships in conjunction with the openings.
Plans for expansion of the Cantina del Rio concept include sites in cities such as Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit. Six more Cantina del Rios are scheduled to open within the next year.
