THINGS THAT GO BUNK IN THE NIGHT
ATLANTA, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Critters roam and vanished species

parade under the counterpane in a new line of bedding designed with kids in mind.
The product is the first ever manufactured in standard bedding sizes but designed to appeal to children and comes from the Simmons Company in its two top mattress lines.
The kids will like the dinosaurs and zoo animals -- two of four featured designs. Parents will like the solid technology underneath. The kids' tickings cover the patented Beautyrest pocketed coils and the Maxipedic, leading the bedding industry in open coil mattress construction.
Other patterns in the line -- called Flavors -- feature blue jean pockets and Bunkman, a character with a distinct video game look. Flavors' tickings come in bright, primary colors designed to appeal to kids -- a far cry from the restful pastels adults most often choose.
"Flavors is a strategic decision on our part to recognize important market segments and offer a range of products to meet them," said Ron Passaglia, executive vice president, marketing.
Aside from the visual appeal of the kids' tickings, the bedding serves more vital needs. As a child grows, proper support during sleep is an important component for healthy spine alignment and sleep quality. Old mattresses that aren't good enough for adults also are not good enough for children, sleep experts say.
