100 Super Bowl XXIX Trips and Millions of Other Prizes
New Monsters for 1994 Include League's Top Two Draft Picks:

And Indianapolis' Marshall 'The Missile' Faulk
ATLANTA, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- This Halloween season, Emmitt Smith has a MONSTROUS collector card that comes with a chance to win one of 100 trips to Super Bowl XXIX.
Smith, the Dallas Cowboys' superstar running back and 1993 National Football League MVP, is featured along with 27 other NFL players in Coca- Cola "Monsters of the Gridiron," the fall promotion that transforms some of the league's biggest players into ghoulish phantoms of the stadia.
The six-week promotion, which begins Sept. 19, offers a complete set of limited-edition Monsters of the Gridiron collector cards -- 30 in all -- featuring players from every team in the NFL, plus the mascots of the league's two newest franchises, the Carolina Panthers and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The limited-edition Monsters collector cards, produced by Score Board's Classic Games, depict the NFL heroes in an eerie but humorous light, transforming their on-field personas into bizarre, otherworldly creatures, such as Atlanta's Jessie "Tarantula" Tuggle, Green Bay's Sean "Ghost" Jones and Houston's Ray "Scarecrow" Childress.
It takes several hours of extensive make-up for each player to transform into his Monster-ness for the cards.
Two random Monsters of the Gridiron collector cards will be available inside every specially marked multi-pack of Coca-Cola classic, diet Coke, caffeine-free diet Coke and Sprite.
Also inside the same multi-packs: an "instant win" scratch-off game piece, with a chance to win one of millions of prizes, including 100 grand prize trips to Super Bowl XXIX in Miami. Every card is a potential winner.
Instant-win Monsters prize messages also are available on the reverse side of labels on specially marked two-liter bottles of soft drink products from The Coca-Cola Company.
Consumers can win more than five million available prizes in the promotion, which concludes Oct. 31. Along with the grand prize Super Bowl packages are special-edition gold foil Monsters collector card sets, Monsters "PINHEAD" lapel pins, Starter baseball caps, miniature autographed footballs and coupons for Coca-Cola products.
"Monsters of the Gridiron captures the fantasy of the Halloween season and the lighthearted personalities of some of the NFL's biggest stars," said Charles S. Frenette, executive vice president and general manager, Coca-Cola USA Operations. "It is a fun, imaginative way to bring our long-standing NFL relationship to our customers."
Returning Monsters such as Philadelphia's Randall "Rocket Man" Cunningham, the New York Jets' Ronnie "The Rattler" Lott and Buffalo's Cornelius "Big Bear" Bennett are joined this year by 15 Monster newcomers, including top draft picks Dan "Big Daddy" Wilkinson of Cincinnati and Marshall "The Missile" Faulk of Indianapolis.
Collectors will have a chance to acquire other Monsters cards, including Marco "Cobra" Coleman (Miami), Shane "The Barbarian" Conlan (Los Angeles Rams), Cortez "Tez Rex" Kennedy (Seattle), Neil "Knight Raider" O'Donnell (Pittsburgh), Junior "Stealth" Seau (San Diego), Pat "Chillin'" Swilling (Detroit), Derrick "Attack Cat" Thomas (Kansas City), and Eric "Bad Bone" Turner (Cleveland).
Consumers can send in a proof of purchase from any specially marked two-liter bottle of Coca-Cola classic, diet Coke, caffeine-free diet Coke or Sprite, along with a postage and handling fee, to receive a random set of five 1994 Monsters collector cards.
As national spokesMonster for the promotion, Emmitt Smith will star in national advertising for Monsters of the Gridiron. In a commercial which will air during NFL telecasts this fall, Smith's "Lone Star Sheriff" collector card character comes to life to face off in the scratch-and-win game against a young aspiring football player.
The promotion will be supported by localized radio advertisements featuring each market's Monster.
In store, the promotion will feature imposing point-of-sale materials, including larger-than-life cutouts of each Monster, as well as attention-getting banners, danglers and pole signs.
