THERMOSPECTRA CORPORATION REPORTS YEAR-END RESULTS

WALTHAM, Mass., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- ThermoSpectra Corporation (AMEX: THS) today reported that net income for the year ended December 30, 1995, rose 94 percent to $4,594,000 on revenues of $91,714,000, compared with net income of $2,368,000 on revenues of $42,142,000 for 1994. Earnings per share for the year rose 64 percent to $.41, compared with $.25 last year.

"In 1995, we made significant operating improvements in our existing businesses, strengthened our presence in key markets in Europe and the Pacific Rim, and undertook an active acquisition program to broaden the markets addressed by each of our business units."

ThermoSpectra Corporation, a subsidiary of Thermo Instrument Systems Inc., develops, manufactures, and markets precision imaging, inspection, and measurement instrumentation that uses high-speed data acquisition and digital processing technologies.
