        THERMOS OFFERS WINDOW REPLACEMENT FOR GAS GRILLS
    FREEPORT, Ill., Nov. 15 / -- The Thermos Co. today voluntarily


offered to replace the glass viewing window in certain 1989 model "Thermos" brand gas barbecue grills.
    Some glass windows in two sizes of its 1989 grill line reportedly have broken during or shortly after customer use, according to the company.  In a small percentage of these cases, minor injuries were reported.
    A free window modification kit is being offered by Thermos for the grills, model numbers:  418000 to 418399 and 518000 to 518399. Model numbers on these particular units can be found on a metallic tag located on the bottom base or inside the side panel of the grill.
    To order an easy-to-install replacement window, grill owners should contact the company toll-free at 800-531-5277 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. central time, or write to The Thermos Co., Customer Service Department, ATTN:  Department W, 1555 Illinois Route 75 East, P.O. Box 600, Freeport, Ill. 61032.
