THERMO CARDIOSYSTEMS INC. FILES FOR PUBLIC OFFERING OF COMMON STOCK
 WOBURN, Mass., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Thermo Cardiosystems Inc. (AMEX: TCA) has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a registration statement for a public offering of 1.5 million shares of its common stock consisting of 1.2 million shares to be sold by the company and 300,000 to be sold by a shareholder. Lehman Brothers; Kidder, Peabody & Co.; and County NatWest Securities Limited will co-manage the offering.
 Thermo Cardiosystems Inc. engages in research and development of implantable ventricular-assist devices. These devices are designed to perform substantially all or part of the pumping function of the left ventricle of the natural heart for patients suffering from cardiovascular disease. The company's devices are currently for investigational use only. Thermo Cardiosystems is a public subsidiary of Thermedics Inc. (AMEX: TMD) and Thermo Electron Corporation (NYSE: TMO).
